The Institute of International Education of Liaoning University has started admitting foreign students since 1965. After half a century of construction and development, we have trained more than 11,000 long-term international students and 3,700 short-term international students for 128 countries or regions. The Institute has now become a national advanced unit for studying in China, a demonstration base for studying in Liaoning Province, and a model university for studying in Liaoning Province.

Faculty at the Institute consists of 38 staff members, including 20 full-time teachers. Among the teachers, there are 10 professors and associate professors, 10 lecturers and 9 teachers with doctoral degrees. All teachers have rich experience in teaching international students, and 14 of them have overseas teaching experience.

The Institute has 2 departments, including the Department of Chinese Language and Culture and the Department of International Chinese Language Education. The Department of Chinese Language and Culture provides undergraduate education of Chinese Language,  English undergraduate education of International Economics and Trade, and Chinese Language training. Chinese language training is divided into advanced classes, intermediate classes and elementary classes. The Department of International Chinese Language Education aims to train both Chinese and foreign students majoring in bachelor's and master's degrees. Moreover, the Institute was approved by the National Chinese Proficiency Examination Committee to set up a National Chinese Proficiency Test Site (HSK) in 1996. As one of the first teaching units  to establish the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in Liaoning, the Institute has the undergraduate major in Chinese Language (International students), the undergraduate major in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, the master major in  Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and the master's degree authorization as well as doctoral degree authorization on Chinese Language and Literature of Liaoning University. We can offer comprehensive quality education and teaching resources from bachelor, master to doctor.
