Law School, whose predecessor was the Law Department of Liaoning University founded in 1980,is the first full-time legal education and research base for law talents in Liaoning province. In 2012, LULS was ranked the 21st according to the National University Subject Assessment Project sponsored by Ministry of Education.

LULS has been rated as National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and Law Teaching Comprehensive Training Center. College of Law has been authorized the right of granting first level doctorial degree of law and now has 6 doctorate programs: Economic Law, Civil and commercial law, International law,Theoretical Law,Procedural Law and Legal History.  LULS also has its own Law post doctoral research center and the right to confer the first level discipline LLM, Juris Master and the second bachelor degree of Law. Now LULS has 56 full time teachers and researchers, 84.5% of faculty members have the senior professional titles. The school has established the cooperation relationship with many College of Laws in other countries and districts such as USA, UK, Austria,Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Chinese Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan which make LULS has continually improved international influence.
