From February 24th to 27th, the 15th China’s Tryout for Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition was held in Renmin University of China, attracting over 300 people of 49 colleges and universities.
The competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The competition is named after Philip Jessup, who is a famous publicist once served on the ICJ. It is organised by the International Law Students Association (ILSA). The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the oldest and largest international moot competition in the world, attracting participants from over 800 law schools in more than 90 countries since its setting out in 1959. Graduates from Law School have taken part in the competition since 2013, and their performance is getting better year by year with their English and law study improved by leaps and bounds. This time, the tryout team was led by Associate Professor Gao Ning and counselor RenYue, with five graduates serving for it. They all made an excellent show in the competition.
