On May 27, 2017 “EMBRACE CHINA” Summer Camp of Liaoning was launched in Liaoning University. 34 ethnic Chinese teenagers from Malaysia participated in the special fortnight’s camp to seek their roots. Vice President XU Ping and more than 120 guests joined the opening ceremony, including Wang Zhaoxia, President of Liaoning Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and many students from Shenjingzi Primary School at Hunnan District.
“EMBRACE CHINA” Summer Camp is a brand activity of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and this time it was organized by LNU. The activity aims to carry forward the excellent culture of the Chinese nation and help overseas ethnic young Chinese know more about Chinese languages and experience Chinese culture. It would help stimulate their interest in learning Chinese, and consequently arouse their potential inspirations and ancestral memories about the homeland. These teenagers are expected to act as envoy of friendship between China and other countries: to connect the Chinese Dream and dreams of the world, to deeply know about Chinese culture and promote it overseas, and to motivate the cultural exchange and mutual recognition between China and Malaysia.
Vice President XU Ping hoped that the 34 Chinese teenagers from Malaysia would cherish the opportunity for learning and exchange, and enjoy the wonderful two weeks. Through a variety of cultural activities, they would strive to comprehend the history and culture of China, especially the industrial development of Liaoning province. They would recognize China from all aspects, and would enjoy themselves to study Chinese and learn more about Chinese culture, according to the campers.
