On June 11, 2019, China Academy of Financial Research (CAFR) of Liaoning University held a seminar on the construction of Think Tank on Puhe campus, officially starting the construction.

The weakness of finance is the vital problem which must be solved to revitalize the Liaoning old industrial base. As CAFR of Liaoning University is one of the important platforms of the first-rate disciplinary construction of Applied Economics, the Think Tank is comprised of a research team which includes senior politicians, experts and scholars, elites, financial specialists and faculty and students from the School of Economics of Liaoning University. The research team will conduct studies on a series of difficult problems and hot issues during the revitalization of Liaoning old industrial base in the new era. The Think Tank not only presents political recommendations for governmental reference, but also proposes special solutions, such as financing, mergers and acquisitions, reforming, and revitalization to promote the first-rate disciplinary construction of Applied Economics of Liaoning University.
