On the morning of September 8, Mr. Chen Lyuping, Vice Governor of Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, visited Liaoning University to investigate the work on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. He emphasized that it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the important speech and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the epidemic prevention and control, deeply understand the importance and urgency of this work, scientifically formulate epidemic prevention and control work plans for the fall semester, and lay a solid foundation in the work of campus epidemic prevention and control, and resolutely hold the bottom line of no clustered epidemics on campus.

Chen Lyuping went to the main entrance of Puhe Campus, the supplies handover area, campus express delivery center, university hospital and health monitoring site to conduct field research to learn more about the epidemic prevention and control situation on campus. He pointed out that at the beginning of the fall semester, we must attach great importance to students’ risk of infection on their way back to campus, find out the epidemic situation in the place where students are located, and strictly conduct epidemiological investigations before students return to university and closed-loop management after returning to university. We must improve the “early detection” mechanism centered on nucleic acid testing, and implement the “instant inspection” measures with high quality to ensure a smooth and orderly return to university in the fall semester. 

Prof. Zhou Haobo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning University, said that Liaoning University will further implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on epidemic prevention and control, and follow the deployment of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government and the specific work requirements of the Provincial Department of Education and local epidemic prevention and control departments. The university will resolutely and strictly carry out the epidemic prevention and control work on campus to ensure the safety and health of teachers and students.

Feng Shouquan, Director of the Provincial Department of Education, Xu Yinghui, Director of the Health Commission of Liaoning Province, Wang Shaolin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor, and leaders of relevant provincial and municipal departments participated in the investigation. The main leaders of Liaoning University and the leaders in charge accompanied the investigation.
