On the morning of October 7th, the Appointment Ceremony for Dean of the School of Archaeology and Museology was held in Conference Room 317 of Office Building at Puhe campus. Prof. ZHOU Haobo, Party Secretary of the CPC Committee, Prof. YU Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University, and Prof. SHI Baodong, Vice President of Liaoning University attended the Appointment Ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President SHI Baodong.
On behalf of the school Party Committee, Party Secretary ZHOU Haobo extended a warm welcome for Mr. JIN Xudong to join Liaoning University. He gave a brief introduction on Mr. JIN Xudong’s academic research achievements. Party Secretary ZHOU Haobo pointed out, the university and relevant departments will give strong support for Mr. JIN Xudong by ensuring a positive working environment and academic research platform needed for his work. Party Secretary ZHOU Haobo stressed that in the face of new circumstances, the School of Archaeology and Museology should focus on the following three aspects. Firstly, we must fully implement the spirit of General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee XI Jinping’s important instructions on Project to Trace the Origins of Chinese Civilization, take the advantage of our sound discipline system and Archaeological team leader qualifications to explore and unravel the impact of Liaonhe River Civilization, which is represented by Hongshan Culture, on the origins of Chinese civilization. Secondly, we need to step up efforts on archaeology and museology construction in line with school’s First Class Discipline construction plan, and enhance high quality integration of New Humanities and New Engineering and Technical Disciplines. Thirdly, we must strengthen the construction of archaeology and museology talent team. We work towards to build a archaeological talent team with a reasonable structure and clear administrative level in order to achieve first-class doctoral program on archaeological.
Prof. YU Miaojie announced the appointment and issued the letter of appointment to Mr. JIN Xudong.
On the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Committee of the History Department, Prof. ZHANG Hongjie, and Dean of the School of Archaeology and Museology, Mr. JIN Xudong made speeches respectively.
