Research Center for Anti-Corruption with Chinese Characteristics Established at Liaoning University

      In order to implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the second plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, while also strengthening the theoretical support, intellectual support, and talent guarantee for the construction of a clean and honest government and the fight against corruption, on the morning of February 4 the Research Center for Anti-Corruption with Chinese Characteristics was jointly established by the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, with Liaoning University holding its inaugural meeting and unveiling ceremony on the campus grounds. The meeting was attended by Liu Qifan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Discipline Inspection Commission, and Director of the Provincial Supervision Commission; Liu gave a special lecture on “Economic Thinking on Anti-Corruption”.



The research center has been recognized as a provincial key new think tank in Liaoning Province by the Decision-Making Advisory Committee, a sub-committee of the provincial party committee and the provincial government. The main task is to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on strictly administering the Party in a comprehensive manner, thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, actively deepening theoretical research on anti-corruption with Chinese characteristics, and providing theoretical support for the deepening of comprehensive and strict administration of the Party, thereby maintaining a clean and honest government that fights against corruption.

 

    

To construct a professional think tank platform, the research center adheres to a combination of theory and practice. Its research team consists of 43 key researchers and personnel from Liaoning University as well as other universities and research institutions, along with a discipline inspection and supervision system. The research center fully utilizes the advantages of its think tank resources by exchanging and discussing governance issues on corruption, researching on key topics, holding annual research meetings, summit forums and other activities, and forming influential research results. At the same time, the center will strengthen the social advocacy and practical transformation of its research results, carry out the Party’s educational spirit, politics, and moral education, provide warnings for the education and family-oriented instruction within society, promote the maintenance of a clean culture in the new era, and form a pure social ecology.

After the unveiling ceremony, the Research Center for Anti-Corruption with Chinese Characteristics held its first special lecture along with an opening ceremony for the teacher training class of the provincial inspector college (branch). The purpose of this teacher training course is to further strengthen the construction of teachers in the province’s inspector colleges (branches), cooperate with the pilot reform of the province’s inspector colleges (branches), and provide teacher guarantees for professional training.


 

    

The meeting was attended by: members of the leadership team of the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the principal comrades responsible for various departments; relevant leading comrades of the Political Research Office of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Decision-making Advisory Committee; all trainees of the teacher training class of the province’s Ombudsman College (branch); members of the leadership team of Liaoning University; members of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision College; members of the Key Laboratory of Psychological Testing and Behavioral Analysis of Liaoning Province; personnel of relevant institutions within the Research Center for Anti-Corruption with Chinese Characteristics; and the first group of business consulting experts and teachers in the faculty pool of the provincial supervisory college (branch).
