On the morning of May 13, 2023, the second group of visiting researchers of the Liaoning Provincial Key Research Base for Education and Economic and Social Development met for a successful  appointment ceremony and academic training conference for at Liaoning University. Professor Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Appointment letters to the newly employed researchers were presented by Professor Zhou Haobo (Head of the Research Base), Li Hong (Director of the Research Department of Liaoning Provincial Federation of Social Sciences Circles), Professor Zhou Wenhui (Executive Editor-in-Chief of Degree and Graduate Education), Professor Shi Yun (Deputy Dean of the School of Social Sciences of Liaoning University), and Liu Guorui (Chief Expert of the Research Base). The conference was attended by more than 70 experts and scholars from other universities in the province, as well as all faculty and students of the Institute of Higher Education of Liaoning University. It was hosted by researcher Wang Shaoyuan, who serves as the Secretary of the CPC Committee and the Director of the Institute of Higher Education of Liaoning University.

In his speech, Professor Yu Miaojie introduced Liaoning Unviversity’s primary achievements in talent cultivation, discipline construction, introduction of advanced talents, growth of scientific research platforms, outputs of landmark achievements, and enhancement of social and international influence. Prof. Yu fully endorsed the achievements made in multiple aspects of LNU’s research base since its establishment. He expressed his hope that the research base would continue to carry out cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation research, constantly expand the platform functions of the research base, extensively accumulate wisdom  from scholars and other innovative ideas from sister institutions, strive to build a high-quality think tank, and ultimately become a leading policy consulting institution with regional characteristics, while continuing to enhance the influence of Liaoning University.

After the opening ceremony, Professor Zhou Wenhui and Professor Li Hong gave training reports to the participants entitled, respectively, “Frontiers of Graduate Education and Thesis Writing” and “Concentrate Wisdom, Contribute High-Quality Service, and Revitalize Development”.
