On August 22, 2024, the ‘Gathering Talent for a Bright Future’ event along with the ‘Universities to Panjin’ activity was held, aimed at promoting high-quality and full employment of university students. Pan Yishan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the CPC Secretary of Liaoning University (LNU), was invited to attend the event and delivered a speech.
Before the event, Xing Peng, Deputy Secretary of the Panjin Municipal CPC Committee and Mayor of Panjin, along with city leaders Li Qun, Zhang Ying, Han Shangfu, and Jia Honglin, met with academicians, experts, and university leaders. Pan Yishan held discussions and exchanges with Panjin city leaders.
During his speech at the event, Pan Yishan expressed sincere gratitude for the invitation extended to LNU and extended warm congratulations on its significant achievements. He mentioned that Panjin is developing a strong talent aggregation effect and has explored a multi-directional interactive model where talents drive industry and industry attracts talents, thereby truly achieving a win-win situation for both talents and the city.
Pan Yishan reviewed cooperation between LNU and Panjin City and introduced LNU’s Panjin Urban Research Institute to the attendees. He noted that the university is committed to “leaving the campus, entering society, and advancing to the forefront”, helping Panjin enterprises address real issues. This includes addressing problems such as “oil, gas, and water multiphase flow parameter measurement and control technology” and “oilfield refinery oil-containing sludge resource comprehensive treatment process technology”, as well as leading projects such as the Liaoning Province Xinglongtai District River Crab Technology Special Task Force. He expressed hope that the Panjin Urban Research Institute of LNU, with the support of departments such as the Panjin Development and Reform Commission and the Science and Technology Bureau, will collaborate with more enterprises to provide technological and talent support for their development.
Pan Yishan discussed the close interaction between both sides in promoting high-quality and full employment for graduates. LNU students have frequently visited factories, workshops, and rural areas in Panjin, where they seek and solve real problems through vivid practical experiences, nurturing their sense of national responsibility and developing their employment skills. The Panjin Municipal CPC Committee’s Organization Department, the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Youth League Committee have not only provided significant care and support for student internships and practical training but have also personally visited LNU to promote talent policies. They have organized numerous recruitment events with central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, higher education institutions, high-tech enterprises, and specialized and innovative companies, providing excellent employment opportunities for our students. He expressed that, as a provincial university in Liaoning, it is LNU’s honorable mission to support the comprehensive revitalization of the province by providing talents. LNU is willing to work with partner institutions and Panjin to build consensus through cooperation, strengthen friendship through development, and advance together to achieve a win-win future.
The event was also attended by representatives from LNU’s Office of Party and Government Affairs, the Graduate Employment Guidance Center, and the (Panjin) Urban Research Institute.
