International Conference on Digitalization and Sustainable Development and 20th Anniversary Celebration of SWIBS Held at LNU

The International Conference on Digitalization and Sustainable Development and the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Sunwah International Business School (SWIBS) was successfully held at the Puhe Campus of Liaoning University (LNU) earlier this month (September 2024). Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University, Simon Bradbury, Pro Vice Chancellor of De Montfort University, and Johnson Choi, Executive Director of Hong Kong Sunwah Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The representative delegations from De Montfort University and Hong Kong Sunwah Group, as well as alumni, relevant scholars, and student representatives from Liaoning University’s Sunwah International Business School, participated in the conference. The opening ceremony was hosted by Huo Chunhui, Vice President of Liaoning University.


 

In his speech, Yu Miaojie welcomed the representatives from De Montfort University, Hong Kong Sunwah Group, the alumni of Sunwah International Business School, and scholars to the event. He extended his congratulations on the 20th anniversary of Sunwah International Business School and the successful convening of the international academic seminar. Yu introduced the Double First-Class construction of Liaoning University to the guests, covering five aspects: social recognition, academic influence, think tank construction, social impact, and international education.






Simon Bradbury and Johnson Choi delivered speeches respectively at the opening ceremony. Johnson Choi and Huo Chunhui signed a memorandum for the ‘Liaoning University Choi Koon Shum Award Teaching Scholarship’, providing support for the international talent training and international faculty construction at Sunwah International Business School.

Thirteen experts and scholars from De Montfort University and Liaoning University made academic presentations during the keynote speech session and two parallel forums of the seminar, focusing on their respective research fields. The participating experts and student representatives deepened their understanding of the field of digitalization and sustainable development through this conference, laying a solid foundation for future academic collaboration and research.


 

 

The successful holding of the conference marks significant progress for the Sunwah International Business School of Liaoning University in promoting the development of education and research. The school will continue to strengthen connections with all partners to jointly explore new opportunities and challenges in the digital age, contributing to the internationalization efforts of the university.
