On February 7, Professor Huo Chunhui, Vice President of Liaoning University, led a delegation to visit the University of Sussex.

The University of Sussex, a world-leading comprehensive research institution, ranks 160th in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 218th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. Renowned globally for its excellence in science, social sciences, arts, and humanities, Sussex is home to cutting-edge research centers across multiple disciplines. Its flagship program, Development Studies, has topped the QS World University Rankings in its field six times, surpassing University of Oxford and Harvard University.

Liaoning University and the University of Sussex signed a cooperation agreement in 2023. Under this partnership, Liaoning University’s School of Economics and College of Foreign Studies collaborate with Sussex’s Business School and School of Media, Arts, and Humanities to implement the “Sino-Foreign High-Level University Student Exchange Program”. This initiative adopts a “2+2” model to cultivate students majoring in Economics and English. Currently, 63 students are enrolled at the program.

During the visit, Vice President Huo received a warm reception from the University of Sussex. He held separate meetings with Professor Dan Hough, former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Politics and Sociology, and Professor Zhang Xiaoxiang, Associate Dean of the Business School. The discussions focused on identifying specific collaborative projects between LNU and Sussex in areas such as talent cultivation, student exchanges, and faculty collaboration.

The four students shared their learning journeys, highlighting how their studies in the UK have fostered significant personal growth and international exposure.
