On February 23, the Meeting of Middle-level Cadres was held at the Jonathan KS Choi Hall of Puhe Campus. Pan Yishan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University (LNU) and Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University made work arrangements. Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Shi Baodong, Vice President, Wang Peng, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, Qiu Huanguang, Vice President and Yan Hai, Vice President attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by middle-level cadres and teacher representatives. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Hongxin.
Pan Yishan made work arrangements of the university from four aspects by noting that gratitude should be made on General Secretary Xi Jinping to create such a great time for our study, work, life and growth. He added that Liaoning University should be guided by the Party to work harder on talent training and cultivating students’ patriotism.
He stressed that Liaoning University should be open to changes and reforms and work should be made on promoting the deep integration of ‘artificial intelligence+education’, build an interdisciplinary innovation ecology and reshape the talent training models. Performance reform should also be conducted to build an incentive-based mechanism to unleash the vitality of education. Democracy should be promoted to break down the barriers on decision-making so that the good ideas from teachers could become a ‘golden key’ to governance reform. The three ‘go into’ strategy should be delivered on in a more practical manner and LNU’s development should be led by advanced concepts and ideas. By making breakthroughs on national projects, platforms, teams and awards, high quality development could be guaranteed. By taking the inspection from the superior departments and the rectification within the campus as an opportunity, Liaoning University should work with resolve to conduct reforms to solve problems. As the protection of the livelihood and campus security of LNU teachers and students are of great significance, a safe environment should be provided.
Yu Miaojie made a comprehensive summary of LNU’s work in the past year from comprehensive empowerment led by Party building, continuous improvement of talent training system, in-depth optimization of discipline layout, development with the assistance of social services, accelerated development of talent resources, steady progress of international cooperation and unremitting improvement of safeguard system.
He also made work arrangements of the university on ten key tasks in 2025. He required that Party building should be strengthened to promote development with joint efforts. Rectification work should be carried out in a rigorous and practical manner to achieve real results. By abiding by the fundamental task of training virtuous talents, work should made to improve quality by meeting first-class standards. Coordination should be made to optimize the discipline layout and more R&D activities should be conducted to showcase LNU’s uniqueness. Equal emphasis should be given on introducing and cultivating talents to transform LNU into university with strong talent strength. Cooperation should be deepened and new path should be explored in running schools with international universities. Security should be safeguarded to render a sense on happiness to LNU teachers and students.
Led by ‘Double First-Class’ development at Liaoning University, he called on focusing on the national strategic needs and developing disciplines with strength with higher goals, stricter standards and more pragmatic measures. By promoting patriotism in talent training, seeking pragmatism in research activities, bearing responsibilities in social services, publicizing LNU in cooperation and exchanges, Liaoning University would climb new heights in high quality development and contribute more to the ‘Three-year’ Action Plan in Liaoning Province.
