On April 11, 2025, Pan Yishan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University (LNU) convened a university-local government-enterprise promotion meeting on employment to thoroughly implement the decision-making and deployment of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council regarding employment of university graduates. This would also helps to understand the employment intentions of graduates and the talent needs of employers, further tap employment positions and promote high-quality employment amide a tough period of employment in Spring. Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee presented the meeting. Ma Hongquan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Haicheng Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department, representatives of employers, leaders of the Student Employment Guidance Center and the Faculty of Information as well as student representatives from the Faculty attended the meeting.
Pan Yishan noted that LNU has always borne President Xi Jinping’s requirement in mind that the employment of university graduates and young adults is high on the agenda and deemed it as a political responsibility. It is important to stick to a problem-oriented approach and implement a social reality-based mechanism that integrates talent training, scientific research and social services. It is also vital to guide faculties and students to go out of the campus to find real scenes, go into the society to find real problems and go up to a higher level for pragmatic innovation. He emphasized that high-quality and full employment is the new direction and mission of the new era. Liaoning University will continuously promote the adjustment of disciplines and improve the quality of talent cultivation to meet the demands required by the society to the largest extent. He added that this year, the number of university graduates hit a new high, reaching 1.222 million. He hoped the meeting would serve as a way to strengthen cooperation among universities, local government, and enterprises and provide students with superior jobs, thus fully enhancing their high-quality employment.
Officials from different departments of LNU and the Faculty of Information delivered speeches and exchanged views on the needs of enterprises. Representatives of employers introduced their recruitment requirements and cooperation intentions and put forward opinions and suggestions.
Before the meeting, Pan Yishan led a team to visit the Research and Training Base for the Development and Utilization of Environmental Biological Resources of Liaoning University. The base is composed of two parts: the intelligent control ecological restoration experimental platform and the biological experimental base. It was established to strengthen ecological environment protection and promote green and low-carbon development as a comprehensive practical platform in the field of ecological restoration and ecological engineering that integrates teaching, scientific research, and social services.
After the meeting, Pan Yishan and Zhang Hongxin went to the job fair site and had cordial exchanges with representatives of employers, teachers and students. They encouraged students to take root and serve Liaoning Province.
The job fair gathered 45 high-quality enterprises and public institutions from all over the country, covering multiple fields such as the Internet, manufacturing, and education. It also attracted the participation of government agencies like the Organization Department of the Haicheng Municipal Party Committee. In total, it provided more than 270 job positions with a planned 1,200 recruitment scale. The atmosphere at the event site was positive, attracting more than 1,500 students majoring in Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology and Communication Engineering to inquire and submit their resumes.
