On October 23, 2025, Tong Xiaohong, Asia Regional Director of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium, visited Liaoning University (LNU). The two sides held in-depth discussions on further advancing collaborative projects. The meeting was attended by Xie Mingyi, Director of the International Affairs Office; Ge Chunhua, Dean of the College of Chemistry; An Shanshan, Dean of the Institute of  International Education; and Wang Xiaohui, Dean of the Sunwah International Business School.

Director Xie Mingyi extended a warm welcome to the guest and expressed her pleasure in meeting the partner again shortly after Pan Yishan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning University visited Belgium earlier this month. She emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the two institutions and promoting multi-level, interdisciplinary exchange programs to further broaden the international perspectives of faculty and students, as well as to foster academic interaction and research collaboration.

Following the meeting, Tong Xiaohong held a session with students from the College of Chemistry, Sunwah International Business School, Asia-Australia Business College, and the College of Journalism and Communication. She provided detailed introduction to VUB’s academic programs, scholarly environment, application requirements, campus facilities, and student life. She also engaged in warm interactions with the students, addressing their questions.
