
On the evening of November 25, the 8th “Moran” Drama Festival of Liaoning University opened at the auditorium of Chongshan Campus, Liaoning University (LNU). Attendees included Lu Hui, Vice President of Liaoning University; Li Longyue, first-grade Director of Liaoning Radio and Television Station and second son of Mr. Li Moran; Guo Xingwen, former Chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Liu Zhenguo, Secretary-General of the Liaoning Provincial Dramatists Association; and Liang Haiyan, Party Secretary and President of the Liaoning People’s Art Theatre. The opening ceremony was presided over by An Lin, Dean of the School of Arts.

In his address, Lu Hui noted that the “Moran” Drama Festival serves not only as a distinctive platform for the university’s commitment to cultivating students through culture, but also as an important vehicle for deeply integrating ideological and political education with aesthetic education. He expressed hope that the festival would closely adhere to the theme of “Love Liaoning University,” focus on red heritage, patriotism, and youthful ideals, produce more outstanding works imbued with warmth, and strength, and become a shining showcase of LNU’s spirit, character, and culture.
Guests Li Longyue, Guo Xingwen, and Liang Haiyan delivered remarks, expressing appreciation for the sustained passion for art among LNU’s faculty and students, the university’s years of dedicated cultivation and tireless promotion of theatre arts, and every individual who contributed to the festival. They spoke highly of previous festivals and expressed their hope that more LNU students would embrace and love theatre, allowing the vitality of youth to inject new energy into the innovative development of Chinese drama and enabling this ancient yet ever-young art form to shine even more brilliantly in the new era.
Following the opening ceremony, the graduation production A Family of Nine Phoenixes by the 2022 Performance Major of the School of Arts was staged.
