The selection of “2025 National Highly Cited Researchers” by CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) takes the past decade as the time dimension. It measures the quantity of scholars’ scientific research achievements and their academic influence through an objective and scientific evaluation system, and commends outstanding scholar groups in various disciplinary fields.
The primary selection scope for the “2025 National Highly Cited Researchers” includes authors of journal and conference papers indexed by CNKI who have published at least one paper with a Paper Citation Standardized Index (PCSI for short) higher than the theoretical average value (1.65) in the past ten years (2015-2024). According to statistics, about 3.59 million authors nationwide entered the primary selection.
A total of 139 scholars from LNU were selected as national highly cited researchers, among whom 66 were included in the Top 1% and 73 in the Top 5%.

To be eligible, authors must have a total PCSI ranking among the Top 1% of the primary selected authors (with 30,000 scholars in total and a baseline value of 31.815) for papers published in the past ten years. Additionally, they must have published no fewer than 5 papers with a PCSI higher than the theoretical average value (1.65) in the past ten years and at least 1 high-impact paper in the Academic Essentials during the same period.

Top 5% National Highly Cited Researchers of 2025
For this category, authors’ total PCSI of papers published in the past ten years must rank between Top 1% and Top 5% of the primary selected authors (with 90,000 scholars in total and a baseline value of 10.047). They must also have published no fewer than 5 papers with a PCSI higher than the theoretical average value (1.65) in the past ten years and at least 1 high-impact paper in the Academic Essentials during the same period.
