On December 30, Liaoning University and China Computer Federation (CCF) exchange meeting was held at Puhe Campus, Liaoning University. Pan Yishan, academician and Secretary of the university Party Committee, and Li Yupeng, Vice President of Liaoning University attended the meeting. A delegation, including Tang Weiqing, Secretary-General of CCF; Assistant Secretary-General Chen Guowei; and Tao Yaodong, former National Chair of YOCSEF and Professor at Beijing Jiaotong University visited Liaoning University for exchanges. The aim of the meeting was to deepen collaboration between the university and the federation, supporting the digital economic development and industrial transformation and upgrading in Liaoning Province.

Pan Yishan proposed three collaborative visions for the synergistic development of the university and the federation: first, to open up diverse and authentic research scenarios, jointly organize interdisciplinary seminars and training, and expand the service space for CCF members; second, to focus on the transformation needs of Liaoning’s energy bases and jointly create a full-chain industrial service system; third, to hope that CCF would continue to empower the university in areas such as disciplinary development and talent cultivation, aiding the leapfrog development of the university’s computer science discipline.

Tang Weiqing, taking into account the actual industrial conditions in Liaoning, proposed cooperation ideas in fields such as industrial software and digital mining, stating that both sides have complementary advantages in disciplinary foundations and talent cultivation with broad potential for cooperation. Chen Guowei pointed out that industrial software is a crucial support for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, and collaboration could be deepened in areas such as cooperative research and development, talent cultivation, and the transformation of achievements. Tao Yaodong suggested leveraging the university’s multidisciplinary advantages and research platforms to jointly tackle key technological challenges and build an integrated “industry-university-research-application” talent cultivation system.

Li Yupeng presided over the meeting. She noted that the exchanges were pragmatic and efficient, further consolidating the consensus on cooperation and clarifying the direction for future collaboration. She expressed hope that both sides would establish a regular communication mechanism to accelerate the implementation of cooperative initiatives.

Prior to the meeting, the research delegation visited the university’s one-stop community for talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services. They also conducted on-site inspections of the Scenario Mechanism Laboratory and the Scenario-Problem-Innovation Laboratory, gaining an in-depth understanding of the university’s research platform development and collaborative innovation achievements.
This research exchange represents an important practice for Liaoning University in deepening university-federation cooperation. Moving forward, the university will continue to leverage high-quality resources from CCF, advance cooperation in industrial software innovation and digital talent cultivation, and contribute to the high-quality development of Liaoning Province.
Representatives from relevant departments, including the Development Planning Office and the Scientific Research Office as well as officials from the Information Department attended the meeting.
