Recently, the results of the 15th “Liaoning Outstanding Young Scientist Award” jointly organized and selected by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Communist Youth League Liaoning Provincial Committee, and Liaoning Provincial Association for Science and Technology were announced. Professor Ding Linlin from Liaoning University (LNU) was awarded the “15th Liaoning Outstanding Young Scientist Award”. This award is an important honor for young scientific and technological workers in Liaoning Province, presented every two years.
Ding Linlin has long been engaged in frontline mine research, focusing on real-world issues in disaster monitoring and early warning scenarios such as rockburst. Leading her team, she has innovatively developed the Shenhu coal mine microseismic monitoring and early warning big data platform and rockburst large model, deeply integrating artificial intelligence and big data technologies with mine safety. This achievement has significantly improved the accuracy of early warnings, realizing a leap from traditional monitoring to intelligent monitoring. She actively promotes industry application and talent cultivation, sharing her research outcomes at platforms like the World Intelligent Mine Congress, and fulfilling her educational mission in teaching. She has demonstrated the outstanding commitment of a female scientist to serving national needs and safeguarding mine safety.
This award not only recognizes Ding Linlin’s achievements in scientific research and teaching but also highlights the effectiveness of LNU in cultivating young talents and promoting scientific innovation. Profile of Prof. Ding Linlin

Ding Linlin, PhD in Engineering and Postdoctoral Fellow, is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. She currently serves as the Dean of the School of Information at LNU and Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Coal Mine Rockburst Mechanism and Prevention and Control Technology under the National Mine Safety Administration. She has been selected for prestigious talent programs, including the “Xingliao Talent Plan” Young Top-notch Talent and the Liaoning Provincial “Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project”. She has led seven national-level projects, including the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Professor Ding has published 98 academic papers and has been honored with seven provincial-level awards.
