The 3rd Liaoning Province University and College Students’ Career Planning Competition came to a successful conclusion a few days ago. Teachers and students of Liaoning University (LNU) achieved excellent results with solid career planning competence and outstanding on-site performance. Zhao Senhao from the Faculty of Information and Hu Wenhui from the School of Art won gold awards in the Course Teaching Track, setting the best record in the history of participation. In the final of the student track, all six contestants from Liaoning University entering the provincial final won gold awards, making a major breakthrough. In this provincial competition, our students won six gold awards, five bronze awards and five excellence awards in total, and six teachers were awarded Excellent Instructors. Liaoning University undertook the employment track with high standards, provided all-round event services and carefully organized the closing ceremony and award ceremony, and was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award by the organizing committee of the competition. 

During the preparation and competition, teachers and students of LNU practiced the concept of “integration of education, science and technology, and talents driven by real problems in social realistic scenarios”, and took the competition as an important platform to test the effectiveness of education and temper professional literacy. Focusing on real problems such as public welfare charity fundraising specialist, Northeast Asia supply chain finance manager, non-litigation lawyer, ideological and political teacher in remote areas, technology-enabled product manager, and grassroots community police officer, they identified their development positioning, integrated personal career ideals into the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning, and demonstrated the responsibility of contemporary youth in integrating “small self” into “big self”. The careful guidance and full empowerment of instructors are a vivid reflection of the effectiveness of employment education and career education in our university.

Hosted by the Department of Education of Liaoning Province and co-organized by Liaoning Province University and College Students’ Employment and Entrepreneurship Center, this competition was undertaken by Liaoning University, Dalian Jiaotong University and Liaoning Jidian Polytechnic College. With the theme of Dream for Youth, Aim for the Future; Plan for the Voyage, Lead the Future with Career, the competition set up the Growth Track and Employment Track for college students and the Course Teaching Track for teachers, covering all academic stages of junior college, undergraduate and postgraduate students, attracting more than 850,000 students from 103 universities and colleges in the province to register.

Dream for youth and aim for the future; plan for the voyage and lead the future with career. Taking this competition as an opportunity, Liaoning University will continue to deepen promoting learning, teaching and employment through competitions, constantly improve the career education and employment guidance service system, guide the majority of young students to establish correct career views, employment views and job selection views, and contribute youthful strength to serving the national strategy and the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning.
