On May 23, the Advancing High-Level Opening-Up in Education parallel forum, co-organized by the Branch for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools of the China Association of Higher Education (BCFCRS, CAHE), Liaoning University (LNU), and Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE), was held in Nanchang, alongside the 2nd Forum on Building China into a Leading Country in Education: Reform and Development of Higher Education. Gao Xiaojie, Deputy Secretary-General of CAHE, attended the forum and delivered a speech. The forum was moderated by Chen Juan, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of BCFCRS, CAHE. A keynote report was delivered by Professor Huo Chunhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of LNU.
Titled “Energizing the ‘Double First-Class’ Initiative in Local Universities through Education Opening-up: Exploration and Practice of LNU”, Vice President Huo’s report explained how LNU has advanced the initiative through international exchanges and cooperation. It has built a high-level university alliance through Confucius Institutes, Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, faculty and student exchanges, and area studies. All these efforts contributed by LNU have steadily promoted the high-level opening-up in education and provided successful examples of practicing national strategies.

l Professor Qin Jie, Former Vice Dean of the Economic Law School, Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL)
The seminar was attended by participants from relevant provincial education administrative departments, departments of international cooperation and exchanges, and international colleges; relevant university leaders; and project leaders, administrators, and frontline teachers from Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions. As a parallel forum and under the guidance of CAHE, it featured in-depth discussion on improving the quality and efficiency of the education opening-up, and achieved its desired outcomes, playing an important role in advancing high-level opening-up in education.
