The 2026 Liaoning College Students Tennis Championship recently concluded with great success. Competing against top collegiate teams from across the province, members of the LNU Tennis Team delivered an impressive performance. Through their solid technical skills, composed mindset, and unwavering determination, they secured multiple prestigious honors, fully showcasing both the vibrant spirit of students and the solid strength of LNU’s competitive sports.

Hosted by the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, the championship is widely regarded as the province’s premier university tennis tournament, featuring the broadest participation and the strongest level of competition. This year’s championship attracted 216 athletes from 34 universities, including Northeastern University, Dalian Maritime University, and Liaoning Normal University. Featuring team events as well as singles and doubles competitions, the championship provided a rigorous test of participants’ technical proficiency, tactical adaptability and teamwork capability, serving as a major platform for assessing the overall standard of university tennis in the province.

Throughout the championship, LNU’s athletes approached every match with confidence and determination. On the court, they showcased strong serving, solid baseline play, and effective net skills and competed with composure and intensity from start to finish. Their consistent performances and competitive spirit enabled them to overcome a number of formidable opponents from across the province and deliver an impressive showing throughout the championship.
After intense competition, LNU tennis team achieved excellent results. Li Xinrun from the Class of 2023 in Sunwah International Business School and Lu Yutong from the Class of 2024 in College of Foreign Studies won the Women’s Division A Doubles championship. Then they also secured the runner-up in the Women’s Division A Team Event together with Wang Jinghong from the Class of 2025 in School of International Economics and International Relations and Gao Ziqi from the class of 2024 in Sunwah International Business School. These achievements fully reflect the effectiveness of LNU’s systematic and routine tennis training and highlight the high-quality development of LNU’s competitive sports.

Looking ahead, LNU will continue to strengthen athletic talent cultivation, improve its training system, and enrich campus sports activities to foster students’ character, enhance their physical fitness and build their perseverance. Students will also be encouraged to pursue their passions and challenge themselves in sports with an uplifting and determined youthful spirit.
