To help prospective students and their parents gain a full picture of Liaoning University’s undergraduate admissions policies and program features, and to give them a firsthand look at the campus learning environment, the university held its 2026 Campus Open Day and Undergraduate Admissions Consultation Fair at Puhe Campus on June 21. The event drew a total of over 30,000 prospective students and parents, attending either in person or online.

During the event, Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the University CPC Committee, toured the consultation venue. He visited each college and division’s booth to learn about their talent cultivation approaches and the top concerns raised by prospective students and parents. He also spoke warmly with families seeking advice. Zhang urged staff to embrace the principle that admissions outreach itself is part of education. The consultation services should be refined with a strong sense of responsibility, and admissions policies should be interpreted accurately and in detail, giving prospective students solid guidance for planning their academic paths and making informed application choices.

To reach families beyond the local area, the university partnered with Beidou Media for a multi-platform live stream for the first time. Leaders from ten colleges and academic programs walked viewers through their distinctive offerings, disciplinary advantages, and recent innovations and reforms in talent cultivation. Officials from the Admissions and Employment Office then answered families’ top questions one by one, covering admissions policies, training models, and new changes to program structures. The stream drew over 30,000 views, creating strong online-offline synergy and enthusiastic feedback.

The Liaoning University History Museum, a key showcase of the university’s evolution, opened fully for the occasion. Through illustrated panels, artifact displays, and multimedia interactives, visitors came away with a deeper sense of Liaoning University’s values and heritage. At Puhe Campus, scenic highlights — Yingxue Lake, the forest boardwalk, and the broad lawn — along with a rest area and creative photo stations outside the library gave attendees room to relax and capture memories, presenting the full appeal of a National Civilized Campus.

Through live-streamed talks, policy consultations, and campus tours, the event gave families a clear picture of the university’s academic strengths and disciplinary advantages. Parents and students praised the Open Day for its rich content and meticulous organization, saying it not only resolved their confusion about applying but also deepened students’ sense of connection to LNU.
Going forward, the university will keep refining event designs and finding new ways for families to connect with the university. With greater openness, it will continue building a platform that shares high-quality educational resources, helping more students make Liaoning University their academic home.
