On August 25, a signing ceremony for the Cooperation Agreement on Joint Training of Master’s Students between Liaoning University (LNU) and Liaoning Communication University (LNCU) was held at Liaoning University’s Puhe Campus. Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University; Yan Hai and Lu Hui, Members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice Presidents of Liaoning University; Jiang Li, Chairman of Liaoning Communication University; and Wang Donghui and Shi Guang, Vice Presidents of Liaoning Communication University, attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Lu Hui.

In his remarks, Yu Miaojie noted that the signing demonstrates the two universities’ commitment to serving the development of a culturally strong province during a critical period of Liaoning’s comprehensive revitalization. He expressed the hope that the two universities would build on their respective strengths and resources to launch comprehensive and in-depth strategic cooperation in high-level talent cultivation. He also called for deeper collaboration in joint training by leveraging the strengths of both universities to establish a joint training mechanism and cultivate high-level application-oriented professionals; greater mutual appointment of faculty members to build a high-level team of academic supervisors through two-way mobility and shared appointments; greater sharing of platform resources to jointly undertake key projects and research programs and build an integrated industry-university-research-application base; and stronger support for regional development, injecting a steady stream of new talent into the development of Liaoning’s cultural and media industries and contributing to Liaoning’s comprehensive revitalization.

Jiang Li noted in his remarks that Liaoning University’s discipline of Journalism and Communication was one of the earliest established in China and is a leading discipline in Liaoning jointly developed with the Publicity Department of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee. The university has a master’s degree program in a first-level discipline and a strong academic foundation. Liaoning Communication University is the only independent university in Northeast China specializing in communications and media. It has established the country’s first AI machine configuration laboratory, and a number of its graduates participated in the production of Ne Zha 2. The university ranked fourth nationwide and first among art universities in the 2026 ShanghaiRanking ranking of private universities. He expressed the hope that the two universities would build on their previous research and consultations, deepen cooperation in media talent cultivation in the AI and data era, complementary research, and support for Liaoning’s revitalization, establish a model of complementary technological innovation between universities in the digital era, and contribute to Liaoning’s comprehensive revitalization in the new era.
At the signing ceremony, Yan Hai and Shi Guang signed the Cooperation Agreement on Joint Training of Master’s Students on behalf of the two universities, respectively.

Relevant functional departments, school and college leaders, and faculty representatives from both universities attended the ceremony.
