Liaoning University (LNU) convened the 2026 Autumn Semester Conference on International Exchanges and Cooperation to review the achievements of its international exchanges and cooperation in a previous stage, identify key issues and set out tasks for a new semester. Huo Chunhui, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of LNU attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The conference required, first, a firm commitment to the idea of “the whole university working as one” and active participation in all international exchanges activities. All schools and colleges should proactively strengthen interactions with LNU’s Office of International Affairs, pay close attention to and seize opportunities from various programs to international exchanges offered by the Ministry of Education and the Educational Department of Liaoning Province to enhance the overall effectiveness of the university’s internationalization. Second, take stock of “our own resources” and precisely match them to facilitate project implementation. All schools and colleges should comprehensively review their strengths in disciplines, distinctive programs, and high-quality faculty, identify the main directions and breakthroughs in international exchanges and cooperation and have a clear picture and workable plans for cooperation needs and implementation arrangements. Third, give equal emphasis on development and security, and strengthen the safeguard for foreign-related work. All schools and colleges should keep in mind that “nothing in foreign affairs is trivial” and give equal weight to openness and security. They should strictly observe foreign affairs discipline, implement the regulation for requesting instructions, reporting, and approval and filing, and ensure that all foreign-related meetings, receptions, and activities involving embassies and consulates follow standard procedures and complete formalities.
At the conference, Xie Mingyi, Director of the Office of International Affairs, focused on key tasks, including official overseas visits, joint education, international conferences, faculty and student exchanges, foreign faculty management, and foreign-related reception and security specifications, and set out comprehensive, detailed, practical, and feasible arrangements for the university’s international exchange work in the new semester.
Also in attendance were relevant heads of schools, colleges, and research institutes.
