ZHOU Fuyan, Professor and vice President at School of Liberal arts, Liaoning University, received B.S. And M.S. degrees in Chinese language & literature and Folkloristic in 1992 and 1995 respectively, both from Liaoning Univeristy. supervisor of postgraduate in folkloristic, director of folklore research center in liaoning university, visiting scholar on social theory at the department of Sociology in the university of Cambridge, UK, (March 2009 to March 2010), Council Member and vice secretary general of China folklore society, vice president of liaoning folklore society, vice chairman of liaoning folk artist association. He completed his PHD in Folkloristic in 1998 at Beijing Normal University. Current research interests include the study and research on folklore theory and the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage. 

    The main research achievements are as follows,

    1. Hosted and finished 2004 annual national social science fund project "Folklore and Everyday Life ", which is considered to obtain new reflective depth on the issue of modernity from the viewpoint of folklore study".

    2. Main lectures and courses include contemporary Chinese folk workshop, social theory and philosophy of culture, theory of folkloristic, semiotics, introduction to sociology and other.

    3. Having the membership of evaluation experts group in safeguarding of the worldwide intangible cultural heritage of the UNESCO since 2015, and as the representative expert of China folklore society to participate in the 10th session ofthe intergovernmental committee of UNESCO for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage (30 Nov-04 Dec, 2015, Windhoek, Namibia).
