Prof. Huang Taiyan

Professor Huang Taiyan was born in 1957 in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. He was admitted to Renmin University of China and pursued his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in economics in 1979. He was a Visiting Scholars at the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan in the United States. In 1993, he was specially approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a doctoral supervisor and enjoyed special government subsidies from the State Council in the same year. Professor Huang Taiyan was one of the first batch of specially appointed professors in the humanities and social sciences of the national talent program (National Economics Department of Liaoning University).

Prof. Huang Taiyan is currently a senior professor and doctoral supervisor of the Central University for Nationalities and the president of the China Institute of Strategy for Prosperity and Prosperity in Border Areas. He is also a PhD supervisor in National Economics, School of Economics, Liaoning University. He is the director of the Chinese Private Enterprise Research Center at Renmin University of China and Professor of the School of Economics. He is also the Chief Expert in Central Marxist Theoretical Research and Construction Engineering and an expert in the evaluation of the National Social Science Foundation of China. Additionally, he is the Secretary General of the National Symposium on Socialist Economic Theory and Practice in Higher Education Institutions and the President of the China Economic Development Research Association. Professor Huang Taiyan was the former President of Central University for Nationalities, the President of Liaoning University, as well as a representative of the 12th National People's Congress and a member of the Theoretical Economics Discipline Evaluation Group of the 7th Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.

Professor Huang Taiyan was awarded the title of "Outstanding Chinese Doctoral Degree Recipient" by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. He was chosen as one of the first batch of cross century talents in Beijing and one of the first group of cross century talents by the Ministry of Education. Also, he was a candidate for the National ‘Hundred and Ten Million Talents Project’, a new century theoretical talent in Beijing and a climbing scholar in Liaoning Province.

Professor Huang Taiyan’s main research area is China's economic reform and development. He has published over 60 works and over 500 papers. He has won more than 30 awards for teaching and scientific research and managed over 50 projects, including key projects of the National Social Science Foundation and major research projects in philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education. He presided over the preparation and preliminary research of the 12th Five Year Plan, 13th Five Year Plan, and 14th Five Year Plan commissioned by national ministries and local governments.
