Prof. WANG Zhenyu, Ph.D in economics, second grade researcher, doctoral supervisor, is currently Dean of the Local Finance Research Institute of Liaoning University, Executive Member of the Chinese Institute of Public Finance, President of the Liaoning Finance Association, Vice Chairman of the 9th Academic Committee of Liaoning University and Honorary Editor-in Chief of “Local Finance Research”. He has long been engaged as Government Decision-Making Consulting Member of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, Think Tank Expert of the Financial and Economic Committee under the Provincial People’s Congress and of the Provincial People’s Political Consultative.
Prof. WANG Zhenyu has devoted himself to making researches on financial and economic applications in provincial financial research departments for a long time. His research directions are financial system and policy, financial management system and local finance. He has made systematic researches on revitalization policy of old industrial base, tax-sharing financial system, financial policy towards to agriculture, rural areas and farmers, local government debt, and sustainable development of local finance. He has organized more than 40 research projects of all kinds, published over 30 academic achievements on national key periodicals and journals such as “Financial Economics” and “Financial Research”, as well as 4 monographs. He has over 50 research achievements approved by governors on vice-provincial level, among which 6 were approved by central leadership, and 8 social science research achievements were awarded the first prize at the provincial and ministerial levels.
In 2006, he was selected as candidate for the “Millions of Talent Projects in the New Century” at national level, and received special government allowances of the State Council. In 2016, he won the Talent Scholar Award of Distinguished Scholars in Four Fields (theory, culture and art, press, publications) under the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China. In 2017, he was named leading talent of the “National Talents Project”. In 2018, he was awarded the 7th Liaoning Higher Institutions Academic Climber. In 2020, he achieved the 3rd Liaoning Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Award.
