Prof. WANG Shaoyuan

Prof. Wang Shaoyuan (female, Mongolian) was born in December 1970 and is a second-level researcher and doctoral supervisor. Wang currently serves as the secretary and deputy director of the Party branch, directly under the Institute of Higher Education of Liaoning University. She is also the director of the China Higher Education Association, the executive director of the Institute Research Branch of China Higher Education Association, and the executive director and secretary general of Liaoning Higher Education Association. Wang is employed as a member of the undergraduate audit and evaluation expert database of the Ministry of Education, a member of the accreditation expert committee of teachers' majors at Liaoning’s regular colleges and universities, an evaluation expert of the Liaoning Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Award, and an evaluation expert of the Liaoning Educational Science Planning Discipline Evaluation Group. She is among the experts enjoying special government subsidies from the State Council, one of the outstanding experts from Liaoning Province, one of the leading talents in philosophy and social sciences of Liaoning Province's "Plan for Prospering Talents in Liaoning Province", one of the hundred candidates of the "Project of Millions of Talents in Liaoning Province", and a representative of the 12th Party Congress of Liaoning Province.

Wang Shaoyuan’s research interests include regional higher-education strategic planning and policy, higher-education management, and Marxist education theory. She has presided over 16 provincial- and upper-level topics, including sub-topics of the major bidding projects of the National Social Science Fund, key projects of the Ministry of Education, and key projects of the Provincial Social Science Fund. As an editor-in-chief, Wang has published six academic monographs and participated in five others; she has also published more than 40 academic papers, many of which have been reproduced in full or in abstract by Xinhua Digest, China Social Science Digest, National People's Congress, and China Social Science Network. She has won a total of 14 national, provincial, and ministerial academic awards, including one second prize and two third prizes for national outstanding educational scientific achievements, as well as winning three second prizes and five third prizes for philosophy and social science achievements of the provincial government. As a major participant, Wang has completed nearly 100 drafting and consulting services of policy documents, including the Outline of Liaoning Province's Medium- and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan and the 14th Five-Year Plan of Liaoning Province. She has published more than 20 consulting suggestions, many of which were approved by provincial leaders.
