Prof. Zhang Guiwen has a Ph.D. in economics and is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor in political economics and labor economics at Liaoning University. Prof. Zhang is a leading expert of the National Social Science Fund and receives special government allowance from the State Council. She also serves as the executive director of the Socialism Economic and Law System Research Association of China, the executive director of the National Comprehensive Colleges Association for Capital Studies, the executive director of the Society for the National History of Marxist Economic Theory, and the deputy director of the Liaoning Association of Productivity Science. Prof. Zhang was recognized as Outstanding Teacher of Liaoning Province in 2008 and was appointed as an adjunct professor at Chongqing University of Post and Telecommunication in 2004.

Prof. Zhang has published more than 80 papers and 10 monographs in the journals Management World, Chinese Journal of Population Science, and Economic Perspectives, where she has written on the topics of dualistic economic transition and China’s reform and development. She has presided over 18 national- and provincial-level projects, including key and general projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, projects from the Ministry of Education, and cooperation projects under Sino-German International. Prof. Zhang’s research achievements include: “Income Distribution Effect of Binary Economic Structure Transformation”; “Discussion on Lewis Turning Point under Binary Transformation and its Dynamic Evolution”; and “Income Distribution Evolution in Binary Economic Transformation”. These works won first prize at the Liaoning Provincial Government Philosophy and Social Science Achievement Awards. Currently, Prof. Zhang is leading projects on “Research on the Construction of New Urban-Rural Relations in China from the Perspective of Binary Economic Transition” and “Strengthening the Associated Effects of Land System Reform for Integrated Urban-Rural Development”, which are both major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China.
