Prof. Zhang Yuyan is a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), being the director of CASS’s Institute of World Economics and Politics, chairman and leading expert of its National Global Strategy Think Tank, director of its China Social of World Economics, and Dean of the School of International Politics and Economics of the University of CASS. Zhang’s main research areas encompass international politics and economics, institutional economics, research of economics history, and related policies. He has published seven monographs, including Economic Development and Institutional Choice, American Bullion and The Rise of The Western World, The Path of China’s Peaceful Development, and The Sources of American Conduct, as well as more than 20 academic papers. He has been selected by the National Million Talents Project as well as by the National Talents Project in Philosophy and Social Sciences. Zhang also serves as a researcher, receiving special government allowance from the State Council.
