Fang Dawei is a second-level researcher and a doctoral supervisor. He is one of the seventh batch of outstanding experts in Liaoning province, one of the second batch of outstanding science and technology workers in Liaoning province, and one of one-hundred-level scholars of “millions talent project” in Liaoning Province. He is also one of the first batch of Liaoning youth talents in Liaoning province, one of 10 outstanding science and technology workers in Liaoning province, an outstanding science and technology worker in Shenyang, and a revitalization of development leader in Shenyang.

Fang Dawei is currently a Deputy Director of the Chinese Chemical Thermodynamics and Thermal Analysis Professional Committee, Deputy Director of Chinese Scattered Metals Metallurgy Academic Committee, Deputy Director of the China Nonferrous Metal Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Professional Committee, Member of the Ionic Liquid Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, Member of the China Rare Metal Metallurgy Academic Committee, Director of Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Rare and Scattered Elements, Director of the Key Laboratory of Rare and Scattered Elements of Universities in Liaoning Province, and Director of Rare Element Resources Deep Processing and Application Engineering Laboratory in Liaoning Province.

Fang Dawei has published over 200 papers in J. Phys. Chem. B, Chem. Eng. J. and other academic journals and published two monographs. He has hosted two national science and technology support program projects, four National Natural Science Foundation projects, one China Postdoctoral Fund project, one Liaoning Province University Innovation Team project and seven provincial-level projects. He also authorized over 50 invention patents and converted to 17 enterprises. Fang Dawei received two second prizes in Liaoning Province Natural Science Award, one second prize in Liaoning Province Technology Invention Award, one Liaoning Province Youth Science and Technology Award and two municipal level Science and Technology Progress Awards. He also won the China Industry University Research Cooperation Innovation Award in 2019.
