Abstract: Yang Enhuan is an important theoretical summarizer and system builder of practical aesthetics. His aesthetic thought emphasizes that human material production practice is the historical origin of aesthetic activities and the deep foundation of psychological creation theory, which reflects his particularly profound and accurate grasp of Marxist concept of “practice”. Yang Enhuan believes that practice, as a category of historical materialism, is not only an activity of using and manufacturing “tools and symbols”, but also a kind of “value” activity. The spiritual production practice and aesthetic practice of its connotation can be used to explain many aesthetic phenomena, but the question about the noumenon of beauty can only be answered in the practice of material production.
