Abstract: Debate is a stage for many young people to express their opinions, showcase their wisdom and talents, and English is a carrier for more and more college students to achieve diversified thinking. In recent years, the "English Debate" program, which is high, large, and high-level, has entered the vision of college students through various forms such as competition promotion, club promotion, expert lectures, and classroom activities. More and more college students who are passionate about language learning and thinking development have opened the door to critical thinking through learning, exploring, and practicing English debate. A new way of language learning and thinking is entering people's vision, and the widespread implementation of English debate courses is an indispensable and important component of this language and thinking teaching revolution. Starting from the purpose of course offerings, selection of teaching objects, design of teaching plans, and use of teaching methods, combined with the research and practical experience of the same university, we will strive to explore the correct direction for the development of college English debate courses.
