Abstract: The ideological and political education of college students is a two-way process, that is, the process of giving and receiving. Giving and receiving are a pair of contradictory unity, which influence and interact with each other to promote the development of ideological and political education. Starting with the reception theory, this paper expounds the connotation, basic elements and their relations of the reception theory of ideological and political education, and probes into the path choice of adhering to people-oriented and realizing the sustainable development of ideological and political education for college students from the perspective of Scientific Outlook on Development.
