On November 8, Vice President Huo Chunhui met with Zakharov, Rector of Ufa University of Science and Technology, and Filipova, Vice Rector for Foreign Affairs of Ufa University of Science and Technology, at the administration building of Puhe Campus. The two sides had in-depth exchanges and signed cooperation agreements at the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Xie Mingyi, Director of the Office of International Affairs.

Huo Chunhui extended a warm welcome to Zakharov and his delegation. He introduced the development of Liaoning University, its outstanding achievements in the construction of "double first-class" and its cooperation results with high-level universities around the world. He said that Liaoning University has always attached great importance to cooperation with Russian universities and research institutes. Ufa University of Science and Technology has had cooperation with LNU for nearly 30 years, and both sides are loyal partners. The two universities have jointly trained many high-quality Chinese and Russian talents, and carried out fruitful cooperation in faculty-student visits and academic exchanges. This visit is the first visit from Ufa University of Science and Technology after its merger and name change, which is of far-reaching significance for promoting mutual trust between the two alumni and deepening open cooperation. He hoped that in the future, the two sides would carry out more pragmatic cooperation in areas including teacher training, joint student training, and academic exchanges, promote the in-depth development of cooperation between the two universities, and jointly contribute to the educational strategic cooperation between China and Russia.

Rector Zakharov introduced the development and construction of Ufa University of Science and Technology. He said that according to the Russian Federation's educational strategic plan, Bashkir State University and Ufa Aerospace University merged into Ufa University of Science and Technology in 2022, which is one of the 40 advanced universities in Russia approved by Russian President Putin and one of the 120 universities in Russia's "2030 Priority" strategic plan. The school has a strong scientific research team in the three fields of humanities, natural science and engineering technology, and carries out scientific research cooperation with high-level universities and scientific research institutions in China in the fields of materials science, chemistry, biology and engineering technology. He looks forward to broadening the areas of cooperation between the two universities in the future, and setting up English teaching programs in materials science, chemistry and other fields. Teachers from both sides can continue to strengthen scientific research and academic exchanges and cooperation in the future, and make a strong academic voice between China and Russia in the scientific community.
