Abstract: Based on the statistical data of Shenyang Yearbook, the ecological footprint of Shenyang 5 years from 1999 to 2003 is empirically calculated and studied. The change rule and causes of ecological footprint of Shenyang are compared and analyzed longitudinally. The results show that the ecological deficit of Shenyang decreased slightly from 1999 to 2001 and then increased year by year after 2001. The main influencing factors are the excessive consumption of resources, the expansion of heavy industry, the rapid growth of population and the reduction of arable land.
